This is the official web page of the Camp Loll Staff Alumni Association Welcome. Please use this site to explore Camp Loll. The Camp Information bar to the left will connect you to a Leaders Guide of Scout Camp and to informational presentations on the In Camp, Bechler Canyon, and Teton Crest High Adventure programs. You can sign up for camp by contacting the Trapper Trails Council BSA. To all staff alumni: I will be adding more links and material for us to enjoy over time. Unfortunately the Camp Loll Alumni Association site has been hijacked by a pernicious advertizing company. I hope they enjoy paying for nothing for many years to come. Please let everyone know that this site is now the one to go to. Below are some pictures of the 2008 Camp Loll Staff Alumni Reunion held the first weekend in August last summer. Thanks to every one who attended. Go to our Alumni Reunion 08 page to see pictures of this past summer's event. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kim Bott has provided us with the (PDF) files for the beautiful brochures he made for Camp Loll's High Adventure Programs. 1988 - Trent Warner and Todd Wangsgard at Weather Rock I have added a new set of pictures relating to climbing over the years at Loll. Check them out - and keep checking. I will continue to add pictures until I get through all the summers I can. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have also put up some pictures from Scout Pool and Union Falls from over the years. I hope you enjoy them. Here is the t - shirt design for 2009, thanks to Gina Conner. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- April 18, 2009 Dear Camp Loll Staff Alumni, Boy, did the winter go by quickly, but then they always do; summer will pass like a flash of lightning. Some business: 1. Last August some one “stole” our Association Website domain. If you go to camplollalumni.org you will be treated to insurance company’s add. What I have done is to reestablish our information at a new Website which you can find at camplollstaffalumni.org. I will continue to post Camp Loll related information there. 2. Camp Loll had an extremely successful summer in 2008 – in spite of the week we lost to the snow pack. This summer’s signup was filled by the first of February. Not only are all camp sites full, but all of our High Adventure Treks and Programs are also full. We have a wonderful staff in place and are look forward to providing the finest Scouting experience in the world to our campers this summer. 3. You are invited to bring your family and attend the 2nd annual Loll Staff Alumni Reunion at Camp Loll on August 1, 2009. You can see pictures of last year’s event at camplollstaffalumni.org. Please find enclosed a registration from (coming by mail - if you don't get one contact Delose). It would be very helpful to know how many are coming. Please return it to me at the Layton Address before June 13th. After that you can contact us at Camp: Camp Loll Staff, General Delivery, Ashton, ID 83420. 4. Finally, we have received some very welcome donations to Camp Loll through the Alumni Association already this. Last years gifts provided for some wonderful new climbing equipment and new cook kits, stoves, bear safes, and water filters for our High Adventure Programs. The new cooking system this made possible has received very positive reviews and I am sure contributed to the completely full schedule for this summer. We are once again soliciting donations to provide equipment for Camp Loll. We are considering one of two possibilities. If you receive enough we would like to buy new docks for the Water Front. These docks are made of plastic floats. A set installed at Camp Hunt last summer cost $20,000. Bill Wangsgard is seeking other donors as well, but it would be great if the Association could help with this long term investment for Loll. On the other hand, we already have enough to buy a couple of Ocean Kayaks for camp. They are about $500 each, and if the dock project does not come together we will buy as many Kayaks as we can afford. Either way, your gifts will be allow us to continue to improve the program the boys participate in everyday at Loll. There is a donation form enclosed (coming by mail, if you don't get one contact Delose). Please make checks out to the Trapper Trails Council but send them to me. The monies will be deposited in an account which can only be used for Camp Loll program projects, and you will receive a receipt for tax purposes. As always, Delose ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- High Adventure Gear Purchased by the Alumni Association for Camp Loll in 2008. Jason Bott models one of the new "bear safes" used for Loll's Teton Treks. The "new cooking system" allows us to use much nicer and less expensive food. No more Richmore - except for the biscuits! |
